About Me
“I partner with my clients in the pursuit of insight and joy in their lives.”
Mental health, like mountain climbing, requires appropriate equipping, endurance, and gradual but continuous progress. It is easy to feel stuck or confused along the way, but I strive to bring clarity in troubling situations. My approach is practical, compassionate, and driven by curiosity. Forming a trusting relationship is the heart of my practice.
While I appreciate the precision use of medications, I also emphasize appropriate nutrition, fitness, and skills in stress-reduction. The goal is steady and consistent results. I also provide psychotherapy (CBT, supportive, and psychodynamic) rooted in a Christian perspective.
I obtained my medical doctorate from The University of Washington and completed my Psychiatry residency at The Ohio State University. I have worked in academic medical centers, community hospitals, inpatient settings, and outpatient clinics. I have extensive training in the treatment of adults with Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, OCD (including religious OCD), Bipolar Disorder, Grief, and PTSD with and without medical illness. I am board-certified.
